TargetLink 5.2

Further optimized production software development of autonomous driving

The new version 5.2 of the tried-and-tested production code generator TargetLink optimizes the development of production software for autonomous vehicles.

An important innovation is a functionality that lets you dynamically access array-of-bus signals from the function model. This makes it possible to use field elements in object lists, for example, for radar and lidar sensors, and in REST API applications where they are addressed directly from the model. One application example is distributed systems for data export by means of a web service.

The new support of 64-bit data types at ports and Custom Code blocks is especially useful. The high number of decimal places makes the data type particularly precise and lets it take on very high values, which are required for autonomous driving and other complex applications alike.

dSPACE has extended TargetLink AUTOSAR support in Version 5.2. This applies to both Adaptive AUTOSAR environments, which can now perform error handling from within TargetLink, and Classic AUTOSAR with more simulation options for SWC compositions as used in distributed development.

Finally, usability has improved with the new TargetLink Version 5.2: for example, in the Data Dictionary, the central, file-based data container in TargetLink.

All of the above enables TargetLink 5.2 to stay ahead of its times, so the dSPACE production code generator can be used in classic automotive and non-automotive applications, but also in safety-critical e-mobility applications such as battery and charging station management and even in the development of highly automated and autonomous vehicles.
